»Fox in the Box« is a modular MIDI/OSC controler. Each box represents a sample of a musical composition what can be turned on or off by rotating the box. Additionally, a set of modifiers allows to change specific acoustic parameters.
Therefore several passive sensors measure distance, pressure or flex while performing. The current prototype is realized using Arduino Hardware Boards with Bluetooth functionality and custom Java software controlling Ableton‘s Live software.
»Fox in the Box« is designed for creating and mixing during a live performance and for a collaborative way of making music and has been exposed at the ARS Electronica Campus, Linz 2007.
