Tangible Resources is a resource management / trade simulator for a HD Multitouch Table.
Goal for this project was to inform about the finite nature and unstable supply of non-renewable resources. The designed simulation gives the user control about export, import, consumption and delivery of various resources for whole continents or in a more micro-managed way down to single countries.
After manipulating those options the simulation can be pushed to play to see how the changes made influence the flow and can be moved forward or backward in time to made amendments. The goal is to make those various resources last as long as possible while keeping a stabile trade balance across countries.
Data was collected from various official sources providing information about each country’s export and import of those resources.
